Implant Dentistry

Description

Here, Dr. Shepperd explains why dental implants are the preferred solution to tooth loss. He has placed and restored (meaning the surgical placement of the implants and attachment of a crown, bridge, or denture) more than 2,500 implants. By incorporating platelet-rich fibrin and other advanced methods, the Atlanta West Dentistry team ensures the procedure is as safe, comfortable, and effective as possible.

Dr. Benjamin C. Shepperd A dental implant is the best solution to tooth replacement because we can place a fixture that will hold, whether that be a single tooth or multiple teeth or a full denture in place. It's the most stable thing that can fit comfortably and look and can really appear to be a natural tooth. Process of getting a dental implant starts with advanced diagnostic imaging to make sure that we're really fitting the implant to you rather than the other way around. Dr. Benjamin C. Shepperd Once we're able to evaluate which dental implants would best suit your needs, we can plan to have you come in to actually have the dental implant placed. I've placed and restored over 2,500 dental implants. Recovery from dental implant procedures takes typically from three to five days. Luckily, we have some technologies like platelet-rich fibrin and other methods that we can use during the procedures to help with the recovery process and make it easier for you. Dr. Benjamin C. Shepperd The benefits for the patients is, it's resounding that they can get the form and function that they had lost sometimes many years ago. Just with a single dental implant, it's amazing how much a single tooth replacement will change someone's life. I usually hear, "It's really not that bad. It's really not that bad." I feel like that's all I hear, "It's really not that bad."
