A dental implant is simply a screw that is put into the bone. A dental implant or dental implants can be used to replace one tooth, multiple teeth. When you hear the terms all-on-four, all-on-six, teeth in a day, all these are simply terms to describe the same thing, which is a fixed solution that is held in by dental implants.

The beauty of this procedure is that most often it takes place in one event, one procedure. One of the funnest things about my job is getting to witness these transformations where someone presents to us with lots of fears and anxieties, and certainly there's usually anxieties that are around the dental procedure itself.

The all-on-4 procedure can take anywhere from 3–6 hours. The best part about it is to the patient, it feels like 5 minutes. The recovery process from all-on-4 surgery is easier than most people imagine. We have a protocol that we stick with for most of our patients, and it's a 4–6 day process, and our patients are on anti-inflammatories, typically on a special mouthwash, and also on a short-term steroid pack. It's simply easier than what most people think.
