A few years ago I had a lady who had removed almost all of her teeth. We replaced a denture in her mouth. She's been wearing a denture for three or four years and she's never really fell in love with it which is sometimes we find that to be the case because you tend to have to think about what you're eating. You're certainly limited in terms of what you can eat.I usually tell patients that some dentures are about 25% as functional as natural teeth. You think about that from a quality of life standpoint and it really can effect your ability to function and chew. Of course what is the most embarrassing thing is say when the teeth are falling down when you're speaking or opening your mouth and you're out in public and eating, that can be very frustrating.
This lady finally said I'm done with this. I really want to go through and have implants placed and have something that stays in my mouth that I don't have to take out and put them on my bedside table. We were able to have her go through the evaluation process and the planning process for three dimensional planning. She was able to come in. We placed several implants. We were able to get her a smile that day. When she left after being here for a few hours and us going through that surgery, she was crying she was so happy.
That's one of the most rewarding things for me is being able to instantly create that gratification for the patient and not let it be this drawn out process. She essentially came in with no teeth or at least having removable teeth and left having fixed teeth that don't come out at all. She could smile confidently, go eat what she wants to eat. It's a really cool thing to offer people.

Dental Implants Can Rebuild Your Smile
We often use dental implants to help our full-mouth rehabilitation patients. Drs. Watson and Bowersox have extensive experience with implants – combined, they’ve placed and restored close to 3,000 of them!
They will insert these artificial tooth roots using 3-D imaging and a computer-guided procedure. Using advanced technology, we will “virtually” place your implants during the planning phase. The end result is so accurate, we can place implants within 1/100 of a millimeter!
Because of our extreme precision, your implant procedure will be quick and your healing period will be minimal. In many cases, we can even give you new replacement teeth at the same visit! Your implants can secure crowns, bridges, dentures, and full arches of replacement teeth.
Choosing the Best Options to Reconstruct Your Smile
Below are some of our other restorative options we can consider in rehabilitating your smile.
- Fillings – Our tooth-colored fillings are strong, long-lasting, and aesthetically appealing.
- Root Canals – A painless root canal can relieve your pain, maintain the health of your tooth, and allow you to live normally once again.
- Dental Veneers – Our beautiful porcelain veneers can cover any small imperfection yet can also completely revolutionize your smile.
By choosing one or more of these options, we can help you achieve a strong, healthy, working smile once more!
Examining Your Smile to Provide the Best Solutions
During your first visit to our office, one of our doctors will perform examinations so we can best help your smile. These exams will consist of digital X-ray imaging (a safer alternative to traditional X-rays), visual exams, and more.
This is a great time to talk to your doctor about the problems you are having and what you would like to see fixed. We can help you determine what plan of action might be right for you and help you understand your options for rebuilding your smile.
