Would you like to look 5 or 10 years younger?
Would you believe us if we told that you could and that you don’t need surgery to do it?
Does this sound like an ad for a miracle cream of some kind?
Would you believe this is really about making your teeth whiter?
It’s true. As hard as it may be to believe, having your teeth whitened can make you look years younger. (And having yellow teeth can make you appear to be older than you actually are.)
We will explain why we are saying this in a moment. We also want you to know that you can have your teeth professionally whitened at Atlanta West Dentistry in Marietta, GA.

How Old Do You Look?
The Daily Mail, a British newspaper, used photo editing software to simulate the effects of teeth whitening.
They asked volunteers to look at multiple images of celebrities and models. The only difference was the whiteness of the person’s teeth in the photos. Here are some of the results:
- A female model was judged to be 32 years old with white teeth, and 43 with stained teeth.
- A male model with white teeth was judged to be 28 years old but 38 with stained teeth.
- A British politician was judged to be 58 years when people saw his real teeth but only 49 years old when they saw his whitened smile.
- Model Kate Moss, who is 41, was judged to be 35 years old when people saw her whiter smile.
- Actress Helena Bonham Carter, 49, was considered to be 42 years old by people who saw photos of her whitened teeth.
Why Whitening Wipes Away The Years
It’s inevitable that as we get older, we show the signs of aging.
Your hair may turn gray or even fall out. Your muscles may fatigue more easily, and you won’t be able to move as quickly as you once could.
Likewise, our teeth pick up stains gradually no matter what we eat or drink. Your teeth are going to look darker and yellower when you are 50 than they were when you are 30.
That’s 20 more years of spaghetti, 20 more years of morning coffee, 20 more years of soft drinks.
That why the same model could look up to 12 years older or younger depending on how white or how stained her teeth looked in her photo.
We only speed up this process when we smoke or use other tobacco products, since they cause stains to form more quickly.
The Fastest Way To Whiter Teeth
If you would like to take a few years off your appearance, then Atlanta West Dentistry has three ways to help.
These include in-office and take-home treatments or a combination of both.
➤ KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching is one of the premier whitening products on the market today. This involves a mix of in-office treatments and take-home trays.
Your first treatment will last about 45 minutes in our office. Before you leave we will provide you with a custom tray made by taking an impression of your teeth.
For two weeks, you will wear the trays overnight along with a whitening product. After that is finished, you will return to our office for a final treatment.
In as little as 14 days, your teeth could be up to eight shades whiter.
➤ Opalescence Boost is another in-office treatment option. This product contains potassium nitrate, which reduces teeth sensitivity after your treatment has been completed.
This treatment takes about one hour to complete. The end result is teeth that are dramatically whiter.
➤ Opalescence Go is a take-home treatment option. This can be used on its own or as a way to touch up your smile after your initial whitening treatment.
Opalescence Go uses trays that have been pre-filled with whitening gel. This makes them less messy and simple to use.
