Many cosmetic dental services are designed to do one thing and do it well. On the other hand, dental veneers may take the prize for being the most versatile service.
We’ve seen what veneers have done for so many patients at our dentist office in Marietta, GA. We would love to show you what veneers could do for you, too.
Below, we will discuss some ways dental veneers can help you improve your smile.
Teeth whitening is the first thing that comes to mind when people notice their discolored teeth. We do offer professional teeth whitening, and it can do a remarkable job when it comes to removing stains from teeth.
Unfortunately, staining is just one possible reason your teeth may be discolored. Injuries can affect the color of individual teeth. Illnesses and medications can cause teeth to change color as well.
And wear and tear on your enamel can let more dentin (a yellow layer beneath your enamel) show through.
Whitening isn’t likely to work on those particular issues, but dental veneers can.
Veneers are bonded to the front of your teeth. Rather than changing the color of your teeth, veneers are used to hide them.
Veneers are kind of like a new facade for a building. They can be made to look as white and bright as you would like while preserving most of the structure behind them.
People do a lot of things that we probably shouldn’t do.
We use our teeth to open packaging. We use our teeth to hold pens and tools. We chew ice and bite into hard candies. We play sports without protecting our mouths with athletic mouthguards.
All of these things can lead to chipped and worn teeth. It may not seem like much, but a chipped tooth can affect the appearance of your smile and the function of your teeth.
Dental veneers can be used to restore your teeth to their original size and shape. In doing so, they can improve the function of those teeth as well.
Closing Gaps In Your Smile
Many people have extra space between two or more of their teeth. These gaps can form for a variety of reasons.
Some people don’t mind them, but some people would like nothing more than to have those teeth be closer together.
You could try orthodontic care, but many times veneers can give you similar results in less time. With dental veneers, you can close those extra spaces and create the smile of your dreams.
Straighten Your Smile
Veneers aren’t going to work on every alignment issue. Orthodontics are still your best option for overbites and underbites, for instance.
But, you may be able to address issues with crooked and crowded teeth with dental veneers.
If you want your teeth to look straight, our team at Atlanta West Dentistry could create a set of veneers that will make your teeth look parallel and evenly spaced.
Dental veneers can offer many patients a complete smile makeover.
If you have discolored teeth with gaps in them, veneers can make your teeth look whiter and closer together. If your teeth that are both crooked and worn-down, veneers can give you a smile that looks straight and complete.
If you have multiple issues, veneers could offer you a single solution for those problems.
Kinds Of Veneers
At Atlanta West Dentistry, we offer both e.max and DURAthin veneers.
E.max is a kind of porcelain veneers. For this veneers, we would need to remove a thin layer of enamel to create room and to improve the bond between your veneers and your teeth.
Typically, we remove 0.5 mm or less. After the enamel is removed. We take impressions so your veneers can be custom-made to fit your smile.
When they are ready, we will bond them to your teeth, and you will see the difference instantly.
DURAthin is made with materials can allow your veneers to be even thinner than our e.max veneers. As such, you may not need to remove any enamel to get DURAthin veneers.
