I've actually wanted to be a dentist since I was a small child. My uncle was a dentist, and one of the close family friends was a dentist. I sort of grew up a little bit in that environment. Not so much as my wife did with her dad, but I enjoyed seeing my uncle interact with patients. That interaction, and that communication, and getting to know people over many, many years is one of the things I enjoy about dentistry. It's probably the one thing I enjoy about dentistry. Of course I love, I'm a tech guy and I love to get into some of the gadgets that we have in dentistry. For the most part, it's just all about getting to know people and having friends and family and just here in our office each and every day.
Dr. Watson received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology at UGA and graduated from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry. He was then accepted into one of the top hospital-based residencies in the country at University of Alabama-Birmingham. It was there that Dr. Watson began his transformation into the comprehensive, multifaceted dentist he is today. He received the 2003 Most Outstanding Resident award and became proficient in oral surgery with IV sedation, implant surgery, oral medicine, and complex treatment planning.
In the 15 years he has been in practice, Dr. Watson has compiled more than 2,000 hours of continuing education, including major stints at the world-renowned Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg, FL, the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS), Phelan Dental Training, and the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, FL.
